2 Samuel 18:18, “During his lifetime Absalom had taken a pillar and erected it in the King’s Valley as a monument to himself, for he thought, “I have no son to carry on the memory of my name.” He named the pillar after himself, and it is called Absalom’s Monument to this day.” 
No matter who you are, how famous or powerful, one day somebody will replace you. One day it will be over. One day someone else will be doing what you are doing. One day you will be replaced. Whether you have an exit strategy or not, you will ultimately exit. And on that day, everything you’ve done, everything you’ve dreamed, and everything you’ve built will be placed in someone else’s hands. You have two choices:
1.You can desperately hold on to your job (role) until someone inevitably replaces you; or
2.You can prepare someone to do what you do and

Basketball coaches usually look at the score before calling a play. The score and the time will determine whether they will go for a quick shot, a three pointer, a foul, or if they will simply slow down. It also determines the kind of players they will use especially during crunch time. Its Hard To Call A Play Without Looking At The Score. Not only true in basketball, its also true in campus ministry (at least for us)
The score (stats: Attendance in our youth services, number of students doing 121, number of victory group leaders, how many attends small group and how many attends church; etc..) helps us determine what strategy and action we need to make. It reveals where we are, our strength and our weaknesses. It helps us know where to focus, adjust, and concentrate our workforce and resources. That’s the reason we keep track of the numbers.

I love driving. Here are some of the reasons why: 
-I can relax and listen to at least one preaching a day from some of my favorite preachers
-I can choose the route to take especially during rush hour
-I don’t have to wait long hours for a train, fx, or taxi (jeep, tricycle, pedicab, boat, etc) 
-I can come early to my meetings 
  
Some of the things i don’t like about driving:   
-Occasional Heavy Traffic
-Reckless drivers
and finally..
-Drivers of slow vehicles (expressway) who stays in the fast lane
Instead of moving to the side to give way to other fast moving vehicles they would insist on staying in the fast lane. As a result: they slow down other motorist who can travel faster to their destination. As i think about that, We can do that as leaders to the people we’re leading.
We can slow down emerging leaders if we don’t speed up or move to the

Genesis 2:2-3, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
Church member: Pastor can i have an appointment with you tomorrow?  
Pastor: I’m very sorry, tomorrow is my rest day, also time with my family. But I’ll be glad to meet with you within the week except for tomorrow.
Church member: Rest? You’re resting tomorrow? How can you rest pastor when the devil is working 24/7? 
Pastor: Yes, you’re right. The devil is working 24/7, but the devil is not my model. Jesus is my model that is why I rest.
